DRAFT ONLY – NOT GOVERNMENT POLICY. The purpose of the data set - the Queensland Crocodile Management Plan (QCMP): Management Zones, is to define crocodile management zones.
Different parts of the state are located within different management zones, which are predominantly determined by the overall risk to public safety.
The way Wildlife Officers from Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service and Partnerships in the Department of Environment, Science and Innovation - and specified contractors, respond to the presence of estuarine crocodiles, is guided by the applicable management zone.
The delineation of crocodile management zones also communicates the departments management intentions for estuarine crocodiles present in each of the defined zones, to the community.
Crocodile Zone mapping is located on the Crocodile Management page at Queensland Government |
